Mariano Mercado
Mariano, a dedicated baseball player and coach of high school-aged baseball and softball players, recently faced a tough challenge after rupturing his patella tendon. The patella tendon connects the kneecap to the shinbone and plays a critical role in movement. After surgery, Mariano came to our center, where he met a team of clinical experts to help him get back on the field. Through a tailored rehabilitation program, they focused on restoring range of motion, strength and stability in the knee in the early stages. As recovery progressed, the focus shifted to improving knee stability, incorporating balance exercises and building hip strength to support the knee. Lastly, he progressed to sport-specific exercises like agility drills, dynamic movements and reaction time training to help prepare him to return to his position as a third baseman. Now, Mariano is ready to get back to coaching and playing. Best of luck this season!
