Our Team

Christopher Firman, PTA, CLT, CKTP, Market Manager

Chris is a market manager for NovaCare’s Northwest PA area which consists of centers located in Erie. Chris is also a treating therapist skilled in rehabilitating a wide range of sports, orthopaedic, lymphedema and work-related injuries. He graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in biology and from Mercyhurst University in 1999 with an associate degree in physical therapy. Chris is a certified Kinesio Taping practitioner, certified lymphedema therapist, McKenzie Method trained and Gary Gray Functional Rehabilitation trained. He has developed a throwing program designated specifically for the baseball athlete which has been used and implemented by local Universities and is a JV and PLAY League basketball coach for St. Luke School and coaches baseball with the MYAA.

Elizabeth Darling, P.T., DPT, OCS, CLT, ATC, Center Manager

Elizabeth has been a physical therapist for 16 years and an athletic trainer for 17 years. She is a certified lymphedema therapist and orthopaedic clinical specialist. Elizabeth spent seven months with the Chinese National Volleyball team in 2014. She has also worked with USA Gymnastics for 16 years, traveling extensively with the national team to provide physical therapy and athletic training services. Her work has taken her to competitions all over the globe, including world championships in Hungary, Greece, Azerbaijan, Japan, South Africa and the Pan Am Games in Brazil. In 2016, she was the medical provider for the rhythmic gymnastics team at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. She also worked with USA Diving and, in 2008, was the diving team’s physical therapist at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Elizabeth has provided medical coverage for Chicago's Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street, River North and Ballet Chicago.

Amanda Scully, P.T., DPT, CLT

Born and raised in Erie, PA, Amanda has been working with NovaCare since she graduated from Gannon University in 2010. She enjoys developing unique rehabilitation programs and treats each patient as an individual. Amanda has provided injury screening and strength and conditioning programs for the Lakettes Gymnastics Club, the Mercyhurst University Dance department and the Gannon University Women’s Soccer Team. Amanda is the medical director for the Youth Development Camps for USA Rhythmic Gymnastics where she develops their injury prevention and sports performance programs. She has treated a wide variety of patients, ranging from weekend warriors to Olympic Gold Medalists, but the most gratifying patient group she treats is those battling breast cancer. Amanda has been a certified lymphedema therapist for five years and has a passion for helping patients dealing with breast cancer related lymphedema.

Rosemary Cooper, P.T., DPT, HFS

Rosie was born in Jamestown, NY. She graduated from Gannon University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science and doctorate in physical therapy in 2013. Following graduation, Rosie returned to Jamestown and worked in a skilled nursing facility. She started working at NovaCare in 2015. Rosie is Graston trained and is a certified Kinesio Taping practitioner. She is also certified by the ACSM as a Health Fitness Specialist. Rosie is the assistant cross country coach at Gannon University.

Christina Brown, PTA

Christina graduated from Butler University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in dance performance. In 2016, Christina graduated from Mercyhurst University with an associates degree in physical therapy assistant. Christina’s extensive dance training began locally and she attended the prestigious PA Governor’s School of the Arts. She has traveled throughout the United States having the opportunities to train with Paul Taylor, the Boston Ballet, Point Park University and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. She danced with Holland America Cruise Line where she traveled to Alaska, Mexico and the Caribbean. She also traveled overseas to Poland, Russia, Austria, and Slovakia to perform and further her dance training. Christina is a Pilates instructor and continues to teach dance in the Erie area.
