All Services Success Stories

Tawny Uemura

Tawny Uemura was dealing with ongoing back pain that was interfering with her daily life and keeping her from doing the things she loved. She turned to our center to receive care. Tawny and her therapy team created a personalized treatment plan to address the root of her pain and equipped her with exercises to help prevent it from returning. Thanks to their care and her commitment, Tawny is back on the court, playing in a women's basketball league for the first time in 20 years. While she admits to being a little rusty, she's no longer experiencing lower back pain from running and jumping. She's even getting ready to return to snowboarding. "Thank you to [physical therapist] and the NovaCare staff for assisting me with my journey to getting back into the things I love," Tawny said.

Rachel Hahn

Last July, Rachel Hahn was on top of the world, competing in a triathlon. Two weeks later, she found herself in a whirlwind of tests and doctors' appointments that led to a life-changing diagnosis: stage 4 metastatic colon cancer. Between feeling sick, surgery and starting chemotherapy, Rachel's workout routine came to a halt. Feeling emotionally drained, she knew she needed to reconnect with movement, in a different way and with the right support. Rachel turned to our center to receive expert guidance to discover ways to exercise that felt good for her body and her spirit. "It's more than just physical therapy. They've been a steady source of support, offering exercises that would help, ears that listen and encouragement when I needed it most," Rachel said. Rachel is back to work, building stamina during chemotherapy to return full time as a personal trainer and to keep up with her kids.
