Our Team

Tim Chaffman, Center Manager, DPT, CDN, LSVT

Tim has been a member of the team since June 2004. Tim graduated with a master's degree in physical therapy from St. Francis University in 2004 and doctorate of physical therapy from Temple University in 2010. Tim has certification in trigger point dry needling and LSVT BIG for the treatment of patients with Parkinson's disease. Tim has a passion for treating athletes, post-operative conditions and orthopedic conditions of the knee, shoulder, hip and spine. Tim is an avid sports fan, enjoys playing golf and has three children.

Diana Horowitz, MPT

Diana is a seasoned clinician skilled in treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation, knee, shoulder, ankle, cervical and lumbar spine injuries, as well as balance and vestibular dysfunctions. Diana is certified in trigger point dry needling. She is one of our ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation therapist and works to help cancer survivors gain the highest quality of life after before, during and after cancer treatments. Diana received a master's degree in physical therapy from East Carolina University in 1999.

Elizabeth Kwon, DPT

Liz graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology in 2020 and doctorate of physical therapy from Widener University in 2022, where she played volleyball as a DIII athlete. Her clinical interests include orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. Liz joined our team in 2022. She enjoys playing volleyball, participating in yoga and trying new foods.

Gail Rovan, P.T., DPT

Gail has an experienced and diverse background in physical therapy due to her 33 years of working with patients in hospitals, inpatient rehab centers and outpatient facilities. Gail is skilled in treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions including spine, shoulders, hips, knees and post-operative conditions. She also specializes in the treatment of patients with concussions and vestibular conditions.

Lauren Eberle, M.S., C.C.C.-SLP

Lauren graduated from Loyola College with a master's degree in speech-language pathology. She has since worked in hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient settings. She specializes in treating patients with aphasia, apraxia, cognitive impairments, dementia, dysarthria and dysphagia while also treating pediatric patients with articulation disorders. Lauren is ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation certified, providing rehabilitation to head and neck cancer patients. She is an active member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. A New Jersey native who now calls Maryland home, Lauren lives in Eldersburg with her husband and two children.

Laura Starks, B.S., P.T.

Laura graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy in 1991. She has been a member of the team since 2011. During her 30+ year career, she has worked in a number of settings including acute and sub-acute rehab, home health, outpatient rehabilitation and outpatient pediatrics. She is our most experienced pediatric physical therapist, with 20 years of treating children and babies, and has been mentoring other therapists in this specialty. Lymphedema certification is the most recent addition to Laura's skillset that was completed with more than 100 hours of extensive training. Laura encourages patients to learn how to be engaged with their self care and participation with home exercise program so they have the skills needed to continue their path of success past discharge from therapy.

Lindsey Shaw, PTA

Lindsey has been a physical therapist assistant with us since 2016, primarily at the Eldersburg location. She has worked in the outpatient setting, treating a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. Lindsey is a certified ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation specialist and certified in LSVT BIG for treating patients with Parkinson's disease. She also enjoys and continues to gain experience in amputee rehabilitation. She has a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Penn State University and associate degree in physical therapist assistant from Carroll Community College. She is originally from Pennsylvania and moved to Maryland in 2006, first in Ocean City and now in Baltimore County. She enjoys spending time with her beagle and friends, being outdoors, shooting pool and bowling.

Allison Hammond, PTA, CLT

Allison has been with NovaCare since 2018. She graduated from University of Mary Washington with a bachelor's degree in biology and from Carroll Community College with an associate degree in physical therapist assistant. She received advanced training to become a certified lymphedema therapist in 2018. She is also a certified ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation therapist. She treats oncological, lymphedema, post-COVID, vestibular, orthopedic and pediatric patients. Allison enjoys going to the beach with her partner, friends and family.

Jennifer Hoffman, MPT, CDN

Jennifer graduated from University of MD Eastern Shore in 2001 with a master's degree in physical therapy and bachelor's degree in biology. She started her career at University of MD Medical Center where she worked for seven years before transitioning to the outpatient setting where she has worked since 2008. She treats a variety of orthopedic, neurological and sports medicine conditions. She has advanced training and specializes in concussion rehabilitation and vestibular dysfunctions including BPPV, unilateral vestibular hypofunction, visual and/or motion sensitivity and 3PD. She is a certified dry needling specialist.

Jennifer Healey-Hawks, P.T., DPT

Jen has been a team member since 2000 and has worked in outpatient and home health settings. She is skilled at treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, and specializes in sports medicine and post-operative rehabilitation, as well as TMJ conditions. Jen employs neurological treatments to assist in improving movement and treats patients who benefit from vestibular, concussion and balance rehabilitation. She is trained in dry needling and uses additional techniques such as kinesio taping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping and craniosacral to gain optimal results for patients Jen received a bachelor's degree from Towson University, where she played Division 1 lacrosse. In 1998 she received a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and doctorate in physical therapy from Arcadia University in 2013.

Melanie Rosenberg, OTR/L

Melanie is an experienced occupational therapist, with 27 years of experience in the field of physical disabilities. Melanie has worked with patients of all ages, ranging from infants to seniors, with a variety of orthopedic needs. She is experienced in treating shoulder, elbow, wrist and digit orthopedic conditions including fractures, cumulative/repetitive traumas, amputations, tendonitis, arthritis, rotator cuff tears, shoulder joint replacements, torn ligaments, tendon lacerations and muscle strains. She is competent in the use of a multitude of therapeutic devices, including physical agent modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound. She also evaluates and treats suture wounds, including removal of sutures. Melanie is competent in fabricating orthotics for digit, wrist, elbow and shoulder conditions. She is also experienced working with medically frail and fragile individuals, and was a certified Emergency Medical Technician.
