Lydia Ilieva, P.T., COMT, CMTPT, Center Manager

Lydia, born and raised in Bulgaria, practiced a variety of sports and participated on the Bulgarian national track and field team. She received a bachelor's degree in physical education and sports coaching and master's degree in physical therapy at the National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Lydia got her U.S. physical therapy equivalent in 2006 and has been with Physio since 2007. Lydia treats back and neck conditions and believes in getting to the root cause of her patient's pain and restoring the body to optimal function. She uses the McKenzie method and Mulligan technique in her treatment of spine and peripheral joint problems. She develops personalized rehabilitation programs for patients. Besides speaking Bulgarian and English, she also speaks varying degrees of Russian, French and Spanish. Lydia enjoys outdoor activities like running, hiking and biking as well as spending time with family, baking and crafting.

Alexandra Ryan, P.T., DPT

Alex recently located to the Washington, DC area from Philadelphia, where she earned her bachelor's degree at The Pennsylvania State University and doctorate of physical therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. Alex has an interest in vestibular rehabilitation with which she can treat neurological injuries/conditions such as CVA (stroke), vestibular conditions and Parkinson's disease. As a physical therapist, her personal vision is to empower patients to achieve healing and recovery by active participation and lifestyle modifications, and to provide a creative and engaging environment for patients to surpass their therapeutic goals and gain confidence to return to full involvement in their lives.

Erin Longhurst, P.T., DPT

Erin earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Utah. She is an integral part of the clinical team who specializes in women's health issues. She offers genuine caring, compassion and clinical expertise with an emphasis on pregnant and postpartum women where she is experienced in treating diastasis recti, pain during pregnancy, incontinence and pelvic pain both postpartum and with other maladies. Quality of life and return to function are at the forefront of her practice where she creates a healing environment with open communication and comprehensive education to ensure a successful outcome.

Alyssa Wolf, P.T., DPT

Alyssa graduated from Ithaca College with her doctorate of physical therapy in 2006 and has been working with the D.C. NovaCare centers since 2009. Alyssa transitioned to PRN work in 2016 and expanding to working in Maryland in 2020. Alyssa has experience in all areas of outpatient care especially in working with patients with knee and shoulder pain, vestibular disorders or post concussion syndrome. Alyssa can help her Spanish speaking patients if they are not comfortable conversing in English. She enjoys snowboarding, hiking, cooking (and eating) and hanging out with her husband and two cats.
