    Bethesda, MD

As a professional soccer player who hadn't missed a game in seven years, I was devastated when I went down in the first game of my 2017 season with a torn ACL. Playing soccer was such a huge part of my identity, so I was shattered to learn how long and intense the recovery process would be. It was so important to have a surgeon and physical therapist that I trusted, because my recovery could make or break my career.

NovaCare Rehabilitation was highly recommended from my team, the Washington Spirit. As soon as I met the team in Bethesda, I knew I would be in the right hands. I wanted to attack the rehabilitation process the same way I did everything in life, with relentless desire. They understood my needs and pushed me in ways that allowed me to progress at incredible speeds. The team created exercises that were specific to my sport so that as I recovered, I was able to stay in touch with the soccer ball and the movements required in a game. They treated me like family and were engaged and invested in seeing me return to the field.

After 11 months of working tirelessly with NovaCare to come back stronger, I made my debut for the Washington Spirit against the Seattle Reign on March 24, 2018. I came on at halftime and immediately made an impact. The health and strength of my knee never gave me concern and I was able to move between defenders with guile and ease. It was a feeling I will never forget and, to top it off, I scored the only goal for our team that night. It was unbelievable. That moment was only possible with the help of NovaCare - it truly was a team effort. Thank you for everything you did for me!
