    Blaine, MN

Following a work accident where I had three fingers slicked off at the mid-knuckle due to a faulty table saw, I was referred to your Blaine center for rehabilitation. I originally felt these sessions would be fairly useless. I had lost the ability to play guitar and even completing some very basic tasks, such as tying my shoes and getting dressed, seemed bleak.

When I started my treatment with Rachel Egan, OTR/L, M.S., I made it clear that besides those basic functions of life, my number one goal was learning to play my guitar again. After playing for more than 35 years, my life wouldn’t be the same without my guitar and music. After six months, I am close to being fully functional and, along with being able to complete those daily tasks, I have returned to the gym, been riding my mountain bike and am learning to my new left-handed guitar!

Rachel is beyond a therapist; she was tough and brutally honest when needed, but more importantly she was simply an amazing listener and someone who I now consider a friend. There was never a time when she failed to utilize the time wisely between various treatments, exercise and provided information that easy to understand. She and your entire staff at Blaine are nothing short of amazing and should be applauded. If there was a 1-10 rating system, I would give Rachel a score of 100! My sincerest thanks to Rachel and the entire staff at Blaine; I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done.
