Our Team

Kris Cooper, P.T., DPT, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT

Kris completed his physical therapy degree at Grand Valley State University and then did a certificate program, residency and post-doctoral fellowship in advanced orthopedic manual physical therapy with the Ola Grimsby Institute (FAAOMPT). He is board certified as a clinical specialist in orthopedics (OCS) and certified in dry needling. Kris's practice focuses on patients with orthopedic problems--back or neck pain, craniofacial pain/TMJ disorders, knee or shoulder injuries, ankle/foot problems and sports medicine. His clients range from injured workers and adults with persistent injuries to high school, collegiate and professional athletes. He works closely with the sports medicine staff at Western Michigan University. Kris's other focus is on patients with dizziness and balance disorders. He earned a certificate of competency in vestibular rehabilitation from Emory University and then an advanced vestibular competency at Duke. The center is equipped with state of the art equipment for vestibular testing and treatment.

Nicholas Smith, P.T., DSc, OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT

Nick earned a bachelor's degree in health science, a master's degree in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University and a doctorate in science (DSc) from Andrews University. He completed a fellowship in advanced orthopedic manual physical therapy and became recognized as a fellow in the American academy of orthopedic manual physical therapists (FAAOMPT). He is recognized as an orthopedic certified specialist by the APTA. He completed a vestibular competency through Emory University and is certified in dry needling. His practice consists of orthopedic, spine, headache, TMD, dizziness and work-related injuries or conditions. He is part of the certified orthopedic manual therapist faculty for Select Medical and lectures around the country in manual therapy, exercise, vestibular and other orthopedic topics as well as clinical fellowship mentoring.

Alex Wlodarczak, P.T., DPT

Alex is a physical therapist with Novacare Rehabilitation. He attended Western Michigan University and received a bachelor's degree in exercise science and doctorate in physical therapy. He is certified in performing Functional Capacity Evaluations, Post-Offer Employment Tests and Level 1 Dry Needling. Alex has also taken courses on myofascial decompression using cups and management of cervico-thoracic spine conditions. Alex enjoys playing with his dog, participating in hockey, golf and softball activity and supporting the Lions, Red Wings, Tigers and Pistons.

Vonda Biondo, PTA

A graduate of Kellogg Community College in 1978, Vonda has worked full, part time or on call as a physical therapy assistant with NovaCare for most of her 44 year career. Vonda specializes in manual therapy/soft tissue work. She has continued to improve her skills through multiple courses over the years including the neck, back, shoulder, lower extremity, post-concussion and TMD. When not at work, she loves investing her time into her 4 grand kids, husband, church ministries and travel.

Jess Whicker, P.T., DPT

Jess earned a bachelor's degree advertising and finance from Western Michigan University, after which she worked in marketing for nearly a decade before pursuing her love of movement. She graduated from WMU with a doctorate of physical therapy in 2022. She is also a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and certified aerial instructor. Jess loves reading, playing soccer, practicing and teaching yoga and aerial sling and spending time with family and friends.

Cailee Bartow, P.T., DPT

Cailee is a physical therapist and has been with NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2015. She received a bachelor's degree in movement science from the University of Michigan and doctorate in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University. In addition to treating musculoskeletal injuries, Cailee has a passion for treating patients with balance deficits and has completed continuing education courses in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation. She enjoys challenging patients to achieve their maximum potential, and tries to keep the therapy sessions fun and exciting. Cailee enjoys running, hiking, biking and camping. She also spends time volunteering for the Special Olympics Ski Team during the winter months.
