Our Team

Kris Cooper, P.T., DPT, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT

Kris earned a degree in physical therapy in 1999 from Grand Valley State University, manual therapy certification and a year-long residency in orthopaedic physical therapy with the Ola Grimsby Institute in 2004 to earn a doctorate in physical therapy. He continued on with a post-doctoral fellowship in advanced orthopaedic manual physical therapy and is recognized as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a clinical specialist in orthopaedics. Kris’s practice focuses on patients with back or neck pain, knee or shoulder disorders, ankle and foot problems as well as sports medicine injuries. He earned a certificate of competency in vestibular rehabilitation in 2002 from Emory University and advanced vestibular rehabilitation competency in 2011 through Duke University/APTA.

Nicolas Smith, P.T., DSc, COMT, FAAOMPT

Nick is a licensed physical therapist with experience in orthopaedics, spine care, sports rehabilitation, headaches, industrial rehabilitation and dry needling. He also treats vestibular and balance disorders. Nick earned a master's degree in physical therapy in 2002 from the Grand Valley State University and doctorate in physical therapy in 2014 from Andrews University. He completed manual therapy certifications and a Fellowship in orthopaedic manual physical therapy through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy and vestibular competency in 2014 through Emory University. He is board certified in orthopaedics through the American Physical Therapy Association. Nick is faculty for continuing education courses and the manual therapy certification program for NovaCare Rehabilitation.

Tiffany Thaler, P.T., DPT

Tiffany has worked with NovaCare Rehabilitation for the last six years. She treats a variety of conditions, including post-concussion care, varied vestibular and dizziness conditions, orthopaedic impairments, headaches, balance dysfunction, gait impairments and TMD. Tiffany is trained in custom orthotic casting and dry needling. She enjoys clean eating, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, biking and being outdoors. She is actively involved in her local church. Tiffany received a bachelor's degree in psych and exercise science in 2008 from Hope College in 2008 and doctorate of physical therapy in 2012 from Arcadia University. After graduating, she spent a year volunteering in Kenya serving children with special needs.

Alex Kamp, P.T., DPT

Alex is a physical therapist with NovaCare Rehabilitation. He has experience in post-surgical care, spine care and sports rehabilitation. Alex earned a doctorate of physical therapy in 2017 from the University of Michigan-Flint. He has completed numerous continuing education courses focused on orthopaedics and industrial rehabilitation. He is trained in performing the dorsaVi athletic movement index, functional capacity evaluations and dry needling. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, running, water skiing and watching the White Sox, Bears and Michigan Wolverines.

Vonda Biondo, PTA

Vonda is with NovaCare Rehabilitation as a physical therapy assistant in an on-call capacity. She graduated from Kellogg Community College in 1978. She started her career in the local public school system treating students with disabilities. Following that, she worked in acute care at Holland and Pipp Hospitals, and then on to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Vonda came on staff with NovaCare Rehabilitation in 1985. She has maintained her license by attending various continuing education courses and has more than 41 years of treatment experience. Vonda shares her life with her husband of 34 years and her two adult children and three grandchildren. She is active in her church and enjoys serving there in various capacities.
