Our Team

Anna Stinson, P.T., DPT, CSCS

Anna has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2018, with 5 years of clinical experience in the outpatient setting. Anna specializes in sports rehabilitation, treating athletes of all ages, including a local partnership with Olivet College. She also works with patients who have prolonged symptoms following a concussion on or off the field. Anna completed her undergraduate education at Illinois State University, where she studied kinesiology and played soccer. She received her doctorate in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University, and also received her certification in being a strength and conditioning specialist at this time. Anna lives with her husband and her yellow lab in Marshall, MI, and enjoys playing sports and exploring new places in her free time.

Emily Lawrence, P.T., DPT

Emily has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2010, with 12 years of clinical experience. She has always worked in the outpatient setting, beginning her career in Laurel, MD then transferring to our South Battle Creek location in 2017. Emily specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation, treating patients of all ages and diagnoses. Her passion is with vestibular rehab treating individuals with vertigo and post-concussion symptoms, and also manual therapy specializing in SI joint dysfunction. Emily completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Grand Valley State University earning her doctorate in physical therapy. Emily is married with two young children and her energetic black lab. She enjoys reading, traveling, camping and spending time with her family and friends in her free time.

Scott Frank, P.T., OMPT

Scott has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2002, with 20 years of clinical experience. He has always worked in the outpatient setting, beginning his career on the east side of the state in Rochester, Waterford and then Lake Orion. He transferred to this Battle Creek location in 2007. Scott specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation, treating patients of all ages and diagnoses. He specializes in vertigo treatment. Originally from Ohio, He moved to Michigan to pursue his education in physical therapy. He received his master's in physical therapy from Oakland University in 2002. He married way above his level and they share two kids that mostly have their mothers genes (thank God!). He enjoys chasing his kids around and running a few miles.

Heather McDaniels, P.T., DPT

Heather graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Grand Valley State University in 2019, and she went on to obtain a doctorate in physical therapy in 2022. Immediately after graduation she joined the team at NovaCare Rehabilitation. Since 2015, Heather has worked as a volunteer and intern at several physical therapy offices. She has knowledge of acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation. Her areas of expertise are sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. Heather attended Harper Creek High School and received her diploma in 2015. Heather likes to spend her free time with her family, friends and her golden retriever, Maizy.

BreeAnn Frank, P.T., MPT

Bree has been with NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2002, with 20 years of clinical experience. She has always worked in the outpatient setting, beginning her career on the east side of the state in Holly and Lake Orion, then transferring to our South Battle Creek location in 2005. For two years, she worked as a center manager in our North Battle Creek site before settling back in the South Battle Creek location as patient care manager. Bree specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation, treating patients of all ages and diagnoses. Her passion is with athletes in sports medicine and treating children with motor development deficits and musculoskeletal disorders. Bree completed her undergraduate education at University of Toledo, Michigan State and Oakland and master's degree in physical therapy from Oakland. Bree is married with two active teenage children. She enjoys traveling, camping, birdwatching and relaxing with family.

Katelynn Owens, P.T., DPT, ATC

Katelynn has six years of professional experience and has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation for two years. TMJ treatment, sports medical services, orthopedic rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation and workers compensation are Katelynn's areas of expertise. She earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Central Michigan University, where she also completed her undergraduate studies, then she went on to acquire her doctorate of physical therapy from Grand Valley State University. In her spare time, Katelynn enjoys snowboarding and backpacking.

Teri Seedorff, PTA

Teri has 23 years of clinical experience and has been a part of NovaCare Rehabilitation for two years. Teri has spent the majority of her time in outpatient physical therapy. Her specialties include sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. At Kellogg Community College, Teri accomplished her physical therapy assistant training. She also holds certifications as a Pilates instructor and Barre instructor. Teri and her husband, Mike, reside south of Battle Creek and like to spend time with family, including three grandchildren, visiting national parks, hiking and enjoying the outdoors.

Sarah Gochenour, PTA

Sarah has been a member of NovaCare since the fall of 2009 after graduating from Kellogg Community College. She has worked the majority of her career in outpatient settings but did spend a few months in a skilled nursing facility right after graduation. Her career with NovaCare has been in the Coldwater, North Battle Creek, and South Battle Creek centers. Sarah specializes in treating patients who benefit from orthopedic rehabilitation, vestibular/balance rehabilitation, TMJ treatment, cervical treatment and sports medicine. She was born and raised in Battle Creek and graduated from Harper Creek High School in 2006. Sarah and her husband have two children and enjoy spending time with family. She loves to read and watch her kids be active.

Christy Haas, PTA

Christy has 16 years of clinical expertise in outpatient rehabilitation and has been a member of Novacare Rehabilitation for 16 years. Christy specializes in TMJ treatment, orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine. At Kellogg Community College, she earned a degree as a physical therapist assistant. Christy lives in Marshall and likes to travel frequently, practice photography and spend time with family.

Nora Tellow, O.T.

Nora is an occupational therapist specializing in the upper extremity. Born and raised in New York City, she has been practicing hand therapy since 2018. She did her undergraduate studies at the Hunter College at the City University of New York and received a master's degree in occupational therapy from Touro College School of Health Sciences. Nora enjoys getting creative with treatments to help people overcome injury and dysfunction and get back to life without pain. She believes in the value of patient education and communication with patients and referring physicians. Her main goal is to patients heal and return to their usual activities, including work, sports and hobbies. Nora is married and enjoys traveling, cooking and yoga.

Valerie Rubley, O.T.

Valerie has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2021. Valerie specializes in upper extremity orthopedic rehabilitation. She received an associate degree from Kellogg Community College and bachelor's and master's degrees in occupational therapy from Western Michigan University. Valerie grew up in the East Leroy and Athens communities. She enjoys spending time with her fiancé, family and friends. Valerie also loves raising her dogs, chickens, peacocks and Chinese pheasants. She also enjoys spending time at the beach, running and working out.

Heather Hess, PTA

Heather has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2008 with 14 years of professional experience in the outpatient setting. Pediatrics, orthopedic rehabilitation, TMJ treatment and sports medical treatments are Heather's areas of expertise. Heather earned a degree as a physical therapist assistant from Kellogg Community College. Heather and her husband reside in Battle Creek with their two sons who are actively involved in sports.

Bethann Marshall, PTA

Bethann has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2013 starting as a rehabilitation tech. In 2017, she graduated from Kellogg Community College with an associate degree in physical therapy assistant. She specializes and has a passion for sports medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation, blood flow restriction training and pediatrics. She enjoys being in the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Heather Brayton, PTA

Heather has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2017. Heather specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation, treating patients of all ages and diagnoses. Heather was a previous elementary teacher of 13 years, completing her undergraduate studies at Western Michigan University, then completing an associate degree for physical therapy assistant at Kellogg Community College. Heather will be married in December, and has two grown children. She enjoys spending time with her dogs and watching the hockey team her fiancé coaches.

Casey Almeida, PTA

Casey is a physical therapist at NovaCare Rehabilitation. All of Casey's clinical experience comes from NovaCare. Her specialty is in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. She graduated from Kellogg Community College with an associate degree in applied science. She is certified in both kinesio taping and rock blading. Casey and her husband reside in Battle Creek, and have a dog named Jace.
