Our Team

Troy Straeffer, P.T.

Troy is originally from Evansville, IN, and he graduated from Western Kentucky University with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. He attended Indiana University for his physical therapy degree. Troy has been treating patients in the Florence center since 2007 and enjoys working in sports medicine and orthopedics. He received his orthopedic clinical specialist certification in 2011 and dry needing certification in 2018.

Karen Gorlewski, PTA

Karen was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. She has been living in the northern Kentucky area for 24 years. Karen spent the first 14 years of her career practicing as an athletic trainer in a variety of different settings. In 2012 she earned a degree as a physical therapy assistant and has practiced in the outpatient clinical setting ever since. She specializes in treating running injuries. Karen enjoys running and going on new adventures with her daughter.

Susie Bell, M.S., LAT, ATC

Susie begins her first year with NovaCare as an athletic trainer working at Lloyd Memorial High School. She has been an athletic trainer for 18 years working in a variety of settings, including women's professional football. Susie graduated from Xavier University in 2004 with her bachelor's degree in athletic training and later from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with her master's degree in advanced athletic training. She is a member of the national athletic trainer's association and the Kentucky athletic trainer's society. Originally from Michigan, she enjoys kayaking, reading, hiking and watching the Red Wings.

Nathan Holtzapple, ATC, MBA

Nathan has been a member of NovaCare Rehabilitation since 2003, with 19 years of clinical experience. Within that time he has served as head athletic trainer at Pendleton County High School, Dayton High School and is currently the head athletic trainer at Walton Verona High School. Nathan completed his undergraduate education at Indiana Wesleyan University and received a master's of business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University as well. He and his wife have two teenage daughters and enjoying traveling, reading and being involved in their children's exploits in their free time.

Colleen O'Hara, Patient Service Specialist

Colleen has been a member of NovaCare since 1996. She has worked in the outpatient setting over 25 years. She and her fiance have 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law and 5 grandchildren. She enjoys going to Lake Cumberland and to Florida, where her son lives with his family.
