| Physical Therapy |
 |
Physical therapy is a unique science and art that utilizes a wide variety of procedures to restore function to the body, reduce pain and help prevent future injury. Our talented clinical team devise individualized treatment plans to achieve the specific goals of each patient. After an initial physical examination and diagnosis by a physician, patients are referred to NovaCare Rehabilitation. At the first visit, a patient undergoes an initial evaluation and an individualized treatment program is designed, in conjunction with the physician's prescription, to meet the patient's specific rehabilitative needs. Under the supervision of a NovaCare Rehabilitation therapist, patient goals are established and treatment begins. Various physical therapy modalities may be utilized during treatment, including traction, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, ultrasound, ice and heat, as well as therapeutic exercise and manual therapy.
| Hand / Occupational Therapy |
 |
Our highly skilled hand therapists are proficient in the treatment of hand and upper extremity pathologies, from the acute to the chronic. Under the direction of the referring physician, our team designs each treatment based on the physician's diagnosis and the specific needs of the patient. Conditions treated include, but are not limited to arthritis, fractures, tendon injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, crush injuries and repetitive motion disorder. The scope of hand/occupational therapy services offered include: wound and scar management, edema control, pain control, range of motion exercises, work hardening, work stimulation, strengthening, static and dynamic splint fabrication, and dexterity training among others.
| Orthopedic Rehabilitation |
 |
Our team works with individuals who have undergone a total hip or knee replacement, sustained trauma to a bone, or have a bone or soft tissue disease. We focus on helping patients regain their strength, mobility and endurance so they can return home and resume their regular routines.
| Low Back Program |
 |
The Low Back Program uses a standardized, functional and outcomes-oriented approach to care that focuses specifically on the low back. Through an active and educational continuum of treatment, our therapists assist the patient in returning to normal, daily activities as soon as possible. By providing comprehensive education in anatomy, pathology and care of the low back, the patient is empowered to participate in his or her recovery and in the prevention of future injury.
| Aquatic Therapy |
 |
Aquatic therapy incorporates the properties of water to positively impact movement, strength and function. Water is a safe and effective medium to exercise specific muscle groups and joints with substantially less compressive forces than other types of exercise. Aquatic therapy techniques are designed to move against the buoyancy of water, facilitating exercise by making movement easier and less painful. We utilize techniques that build on water's natural resistance to improve quality and strength of movement. The therapeutic, non-weight-bearing properties of water create an ideal rehabilitation environment, especially for post-operative patients or those with back injuries.
| Senior Wellness |
 |
Senior Wellness... The over-65 group is not only welcomed at NovaCare Rehabilitation, but understood as a group with special and unique needs. We understand the value of exercise, injury prevention, and the preservation of general good health and physical function.
| Neurological Rehabilitation |
 |
We provide a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to neurological rehabilitation that includes muscle and sensory re-education, coordination activities, range of motion and speech therapy to those patients who have experienced a neurological disorder such as a stroke or spinal cord injury. Team members are highly skilled professionals who offer specialized care to the neurological patient. Each treatment program is individualized to meet the specific needs of the patient.
| Vestibular Rehabilitation |
 |
The vestibular rehabilitation program is designed to help people suffering from dizziness, vertigo, imbalance and other inner ear disorders. Vestibular rehabilitation is a conservative, non-invasive and drug-free option for combating dizziness and balance difficulties. A clinician will develop an individualized treatment plan that includes exercises to strengthen posture, gait and components of the balance system (eyes, ears and legs). A home exercise program may be designed specifically to the patient's tolerance, physical condition and diagnosis. Approximately 90 percent of patients show levels of improvement from vestibular rehabilitation.

| Athletic Training Services |
 |
Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) play an integral role in injury prevention, acute injury assessment and the post injury rehabilitative process. Our ATCs can be found on the "playing field" and onsite providing care to the "industrial athlete" at his/her workplace.
Athletics
Our ATCs are trained in current methods of strength and conditioning, preventative bracing and taping, rehabilitation of injuries, nutritional counseling and emergency action planning.
We partner with high schools, colleges/universities and professional sports teams. ATCs work closely with team physicians and coaches to ensure that athletes compete safely and reach their highest potential.
Industrial Services
Through our WorkStrategies® Program, ATCs partner with employers to help keep the "industrial athlete" (i.e. employees) on the job. Our ATCs implement preventative programs and services to ensure that your company's workforce remains healthy and productive.
