NovaCare Rehabilitation is pleased to announce that three of its local physical therapists in Southern Illinois successfully earned their certification in vestibular rehabilitation through the American Institute of Balance (AIB). This certification is awarded for demonstrating exceptional proficiency in advanced clinical treatment of patients with vestibular and equilibrium system disorders. The three physical therapists are: Joshua Anderson, DPT, Jill Lisk, MPT, and Todd Vaughn, P.T., DPT, M.S., OCS, MTC, CSCS.
Mr. Anderson treats patients at NovaCare West Frankfort, located at 502 West St. Louis Street, Suite 5, and has more than 10 years of health care experience. He earned his bachelor’s degree in health care management from Southern Illinois University and doctorate of physical therapy degree from the University of Findlay.
Ms. Lisk treats patients at NovaCare Mt. Vernon, located at 4110 South Water Tower Place and has more than 20 years of health care experience. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Evansville and has participated in numerous continuing education courses throughout her career.
Mr. Vaughn treats patients at NovaCare Marion, located at 1306 North Atchison Avenue, and NovaCare Carbondale, located at 1316 East Main Street. He has more than 23 years of health care experience and an extensive educational background. Mr. Vaughn earned his doctorate of physical therapy degree at the University of St. Augustine, master’s degree in rehabilitation administration from Southern Illinois University, bachelor’s degree in physiology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and bachelor’s in physical therapy from New York University. He is an orthopaedic certified specialist, certified manual therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist.
AIB is the leading diagnostic, treatment and educational research center in vestibular and equilibrium sciences. In order to pass the certification, therapists are required to complete extensive hours of advanced instruction and hands-on training techniques in vestibular anatomy and physiology and equilibrium sensory integration.
