Erika Walton is excited to introduce Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to the list of services provided at our Mount Pleasant center.
Injury and painful conditions often lead to muscular guarding and pain. IASTM techniques utilize specific stainless steel tools to mobilize muscles, tendons and ligaments to decrease pain, improve mobility and stimulate tissue healing. It assists in treating areas exhibiting scar tissue, soft tissue restriction, adhesions or chronic inflammation. IASTM has been found to be successful in treating both acute and chronic conditions.
Our Goose Creek clinic was excited to get involved with the Crowfield 5K which ran through Middleton Park in Crowfield Plantation. Race proceeds benefit the Callen-Lacey Center for Children.
Our staff was on-site to do what they do best and assist runners with pre- and post-race needs such as taping, stretching and providing instruction on myofascial release techniques. Several Select staff members also ran in the race.
The race had great attendance and made for a fun Saturday morning!
Select Physical Therapy is proud to be a sponsor of the Charleston area Thursday Night Lights program. We are working with MyTV Fox24 Charleston for this exciting high school program which includes a weekly televised football game featuring two local schools.
Select Physical Therapy will be there in full force. We will have games, gift baskets, Select Physical Therapy promotional items, and most importantly, we will provide expertise from at least two different physical therapists each week.
Everyone from Select staff, including patient service specialists to physical therapists and business development managers, will be taking part in this important event. We strive to involve the community, parents, athletes, athletic directors and coaches by introducing them to what we do, who we are and how WELL we do it!
