Therapy's Richmond clinic, located at 1794 North Parham Road in Richmond, VA,
is also home to the Department of Outpatient Clinical Education. This
department provides the clinicians of Select Medical with the most effective
and up-to-date rehabilitation training in the industry. As a result, the
Richmond clinic is often privy to developments in the industry before they
become more widely adopted, giving patients access to state-of-the-art

the annual Strawberry Faire in Ashland, Virginia on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Select Physical Therapy is excited to announce a new partnership with the Greater Richmond Aquatics Partnership (GRAP) to bring aquatic therapy to Central Virginia! Aquatic therapy will be offered at GRAP's flagship facility, the Collegiate School Aquatics Center, located at 5050 Ridgedale Parkway in Richmond. GRAP is a non-profit entity whose mission is to provide aquatic access to all residents of Central Virginia. The facility is a state-of-the-art aquatics center that features a 25-yard, 6-lane multi-purpose pool, a handicap accessible Hydroworx 3500i therapy pool, community and workout rooms and offers mezzanine and spectator seating. Select Physical Therapy's Laura Neely, DPT, will be overseeing the aquatic therapy program.
About The Hydroworx 3500i Therapy Pool
The Hydroworx 3500i Therapy Pool utilizes two underwater treadmills integrated seamlessly into the floor. Underwater cameras and a flat screen viewing monitor greatly enhance the therapist's diagnostic capabilities when evaluating a patient's gait patter, in addition to allowing the patient the ability to watch and adjust underwater movements, ensuring proper form and safety.
Employment Testing: The least costly injury is the one that never
occurs. Post-Offer Employment Testing focuses on determining whether an
individual is physically capable of performing a specific job to minimize the
risk of injury. We provide Post-Offer Employment Testing for various industries
and schedules these screening tests within 24-48 hours.
Prevention Programs: Our programs educate employees and management to
recognize musculoskeletal risks and help identify ways to eliminate these
risks. We provide programs for awareness and education to minimize accumulated
physical stress on the job.
Ergonomics is the relationship between people and the work environment.
Ergonomic Programs focus on evaluating a specific work environment and job
tasks for risk factors that could result in musculoskeletal dysfunction.
Work Conditioning Programs: When injured workers meet
established short- and long-term goals but are unable to return to work due to
ongoing functional deficits or deconditioning, they may benefit from a higher
level of therapeutic intervention designed specifically with a primary goal of
returning to work. An intense, goal-oriented conditioning program is designed
to restore neuromuscular and musculoskeletal function including strength,
power, endurance, joint mobility, ROM, motor control, cardiovascular endurance
and functional abilities. The primary objective of the Work Conditioning
Program is to restore physical capacity and function to enable the injured
worker to return to his or her pre-injury job.
Analysis: We provide Work Task Analyses onsite to determine the
essential functions and physical demands on the worker for a specific job. A
Work Task Analysis is a valuable tool for the employer in injury prevention and
management, as it provides an in-depth documentation of all aspects of a job
and the work environment. One of our professionals determines the essential
functions, physical demands, environmental conditions and other factors
necessary for the safe and productive performance of a particular job. A
comprehensive Work Task Analysis is the blueprint used to structure and guide
numerous employment and business decisions. It serves as a valuable tool in
determining hiring standards, return-to-work requirements, reasonable
accommodations, ergonomic modifications, training and education programs and
